Jill A. Showell In her present capacity, Jill A. Showell is responsible for The PMI Group's domestic government relations operations. Based in Washington, D.C., Showell represents PMI before Congress and educates key figures in the political and policy-making process on PMI's business and its value proposition in the mortgage market. Additionally, Showell develops and executes legislative strategies in order to achieve needed policy objectives.

Showell joined PMI with more than 20 years of mortgage finance industry experience in the Washington political and policy arena. Showell worked in the government relations department of Freddie Mac as Vice President of Government Relations, where she was responsible for executing a strategy to build political and public support for Freddie Mac's housing mission and also served as the chief liaison with Freddie Mac's business units to provide political risk management. She also served as the Director of Congressional Relations lobbying the company's interests before Congress. Prior to Freddie Mac, Showell worked as a Legislative Director at the Mortgage Bankers Association of America, representing the association on Capitol Hill on all mortgage finance issues. Showell also has experience working for Congressman Richard Lehman (D-CA), assisting him in his duties as a member of the Financial Services Committee, covering legislation relating to the housing and mortgage finance industry, and providing counsel on relevant legislation.

Showell serves on the Board of the California State Society and is a long-time member of Women in Housing and Finance.

Showell has B.S. in political science from the George Washington University.
